I have over 30 years experience as a child and adult psychotherapist and psychiatrist. I practice primarily psychotherapy, addressing a full range of issues from emotional strains, trauma, loss and anxiety to developmental issues including autistic spectrum presentations, and psychosis. I am former Chair of the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Training Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. During this time of COVID and with the myriad of changes in our world, lives become unsettled at home, in our work, in our families and in our personal relationships. I work with children, adults, families, parents and infants.
The primary focus of my work is on the developing mind. My assessment focuses on the capacities of the mind to negotiate internal and external realities in a developmentally appropriate way. Promoting growth and maturation is always the central part of my work. Medication is sometimes a question and can be considered in any ongoing psychotherapeutic process.
When there are difficulties in our lives, effective and lasting work is with the mind. Although this approach is more time and resource intensive, it is much more effective, preparing for the present and the future. I am accepting new patients, and am easily accessible from Montgomery & Lancaster Ave, Routes 476, 76, 202, the Turnpike and King of Prussia.
