I am a highly trained, board-certified psychiatrist with more than thirty five years of experience in integrated treatment in all forms of psychiatric problems. My skills include adolescent and adult psychiatry, hypnotherapy, group therapy, marital and family therapy, and psychopharmacology. In today's mental health market, almost all professionals either practice psychotherapy (social workers or psychologists) or prescribe medication (psychiatrists). I am one of the very few providers of combined intensive psychotherpay and psychopharmacology.
Treatment always starts with a full evaluation to determine diagnoses, major current needs and a treatment plan. Any medication program includes the patient checking in every few days by phone to allow for safe addition of new medication with continuous supervision. If psychotherapy is used, the goals are worked out jointly.
I received my medical degree from NYU School of Medicine in New York City. I interned at Lenox Hill Hospital (NYC) and my psychiatric residency was completed at Mt. Sinai Hospital (New York City). Following my residency, I taught psychiatric residents at the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University.
