My training and clinical experience has been with the psychodynamic and psychoanalytic treatment of adults, adolescents and children. When neccessary, I prescribe psychotropic medication for the alleviation of severe symptoms of anxiety, depression and insomnia. I work with eating disorders and weight loss management. I am also a Clinical Associate Professor of psychiatry at the NYU Medical Center where I teach and supervise. My goal is to provide help to people who are struggling with problem that they have not been able to master and want the help of a professional.
I employ psychodynamic/psychoanalytic concepts to the individual treatment of patients in a neutral, nonjudgemental, therapeutic setting with the intention of resolving conflicts that interfere with their everyday lives. I have both psychiatric and psychoanalytic training and I am cerified by the BOPS of the American Psychoanaltic Association.
Over 40 years of experience in private practice with people of all ages has led me to a flexibility in adapting treatment to meet the needs of the individual rather than trying to fit the individual to a "treatment."
