I work with adults and adolescents with a wide variety of emotional problems. Typically this may manifest in difficulties in relationships or professional performance, or in symptoms such as anxiety and depression.
Ideally they would have a curiosity about themselves, a willingness to explore and understand their emotional world more fully in psychotherapy. They would understand that this type of growing awareness can facilitate profound changes in their behavior, relationships and symptoms.
I use a practical psychoanalytic, or insight-oriented, therapy approach, and see patients once to four times per week.
As a psychiatrist, medication is also available when appropriate.
While psychotherapy fads come and go, I offer a time tested method that creates deep and lasting change.
I have an unusually high level of qualification and training, while remaining warm and approachable. This expertise helps achieve satisfying results and an efficient use of time.
