Allison Barton is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner located in Madison, WI. Beginning August 2024, Allison is accepting new clients. She can prescribe psychiatric medications and provide therapy. Allison is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), which is a therapy used to treat PTSD, anxiety, self esteem concerns, and panic. She has experience serving individuals with diverse psychiatric conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and substance use.

I provide counseling and psychiatric medication management. I collaborate with the patient regarding medication options. It's important that I understand the patient's story and experience in order to select appropriate medication/s. My specialities includes working with people with addictions, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders (ADD), mood disorders, and PTSD.

We are a local group of psychiatric prescribers including MDs, GPs, and NPs serving throughout Wisconsin. When you come in or we see you via telehealth we assist our patients and clients by working collaboratively with them to reach their treatment goals. We specialize in medication management and therapy assisting our patients and clients experiencing difficulties with ADHD, stress, depression, adjustment, and anxiety disorders. We are also passionate about working with our LGBTQ+ community, our local colleges, and professional communities. We also offer a free consult where a provider will call to answer any questions.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and nursing assistant. I have worked with a large population of people over those 19 years and would love to help you out in a non-judgmental way.
