I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I believe in providing a holistic approach in the treatment of mental health concerns by utilizing a combination of medication management and brief psychotherapy. I specialize in the treatment of adults and adolescents with various mental health disorders. I am committed to fostering an environment of empathy, support, and mutual respect to promote the recovery and personal development of my clients. Over the past 17 years of practice, the most rewarding part of my career has been seeing patients achieve their occupational, personal and spiritual goals through the management of their psychiatric symptoms. I work with patients to create an individualized treatment plan that addresses the symptoms that are causing difficulty in their lives I have experience in working with children, adults, and geriatrics patients. Other areas of experience include addiction medicine and providing psychiatric consultation services for an inpatient medical facility where I was able to use my background in family practice and psychiatry.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, my focus is providing patient centered, individualized care utilizing medication management. I look forward to getting to know my clients and schedule 60-90 minutes for new intakes and 30 minutes for follow up appointments as I believe becoming familiar with my client is imperative in developing an individualized, personalized treatment plan. I also provide brief supportive therapy at each visit. I specialize in anxiety, depression, bipolar, attention deficit disorder and substance use disorders and work in collaboration with other specialties to treat psychiatric diagnoses.

I have over 5 years of mental health experience and over a decade of experience in the healthcare field. I have taken care of children, adolescents, adults and geriatric clients in acute crisis care who have various mental illness.

Cheri possesses strong clinical skills heightened by her natural capacity to build healing connections with patients and families. I am currently taking new patients. I am experienced and very comfortable working with older children, adolescents/teens, and adults. I become a partner with each patient and listen to what their concerns and issues are. We then create a plan that both of us are comfortable with and feel confident about as we move forward with treatment. I take a Holistic approach, which may include referrals for therapy, nutritional counseling, ruling out environmental and medical problems that may cause symptoms, genetic testing when needed, and medications to target symptoms. Board certified MD psychiatrist who has been serving Nebraska and Iowa since 2014. Born and raised in Nebraska and attended medical school at UNMC and residency at Creighton. My goal for patients is for them to become well enough that they no longer need my services. I do not want patients to just exist, but to thrive as happy and functional individuals. This often includes their relationships, professions and education. I am a medication minimalist and strive for the least medications and lowest effective dose. Much of my time is spent identifying the correct diagnosis and reducing medications started by prior providers.
