I have a long history of diagnosing treating ADHD and coaching individuals with ADHD. I take a wholistic patient centered approach to the care I provide. I work with my patients and families to find the treatment plan that best suits their needs.

I am a board-certified family psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have a master's degree in psychiatric nursing specializing in mental and behavioral health medicine. I have verifiable experience in treating variety of psychiatric disorders such as; mood disorders including resistant depression and anxiety related disorders. I am well versed in the treatment of ADHD, along with Autism Spectrum, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, mood disorders, and women specific issues (ie PMDD, perimenopausal issues, pregnancy, post-partum)

I am a board certified psychiatrist, with fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry. I have extensive experience treating anxiety, mood, sleep, and attentional disorders in adults and adolescents. As a psychiatrist, I can provide both therapy and medications to integrate your care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Rhode Island and went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in child and adolescent psychiatric-mental health from The University of Rhode Island. In addition, she also obtained her nurse practitioner certification for patients across the lifespan from the University of Saint Joseph.

She has clinical and work related experiences in both inpatient and outpatient settings including Rhode Island Hospital, Butler Hospital and Bradley Hospital and has worked with patients age 4 to 98 with a variety of different mental health diagnoses. She treats clients age 10-50 with particular interest in the adolescent and young adult populations.

Effiem is dual certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner and as such, every client treatment is individualized and holistic at the same time.
