Here at the Venn Center, we offer patients a unique therapeutic experience. I conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments, as well as provide both individual and group psychotherapy to clients of all ages. I also offer pharmacotherapy and medication management when appropriate. That being said, 25% of my patients are not on any medication since I employ non-medicinal interventions that help remediate psychiatric symptoms whenever possible. Offering these complementary services allows the clients I work with to feel empowered in their desire for change toward a healthier way of being.

I am an experienced psychiatrist having worked with children, adolescents, and adults over many years in a variety of settings, including private practice, day treatment, residential treatment, public schools and hospital, using a variety of modalities, including individual therapy, family therapy, parent counseling and medication. I follow an eclectic approach to treatment, with a strong background in psychodynamic and family systems.

Hi, I'm Jess! I am an ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, an ICF & CPD Accredited Somatic Trauma-Informed Coach, and a Level IV Brainspotting Provider. I believe the attunement and therapeutic alliance between the provider and the client to be the most crucial part of mental health care. I make it my goal to foster a non-judgmental environment of safety, one where you feel comfortable to “come exactly as you are,” regardless of what that means.

We are a collaborative treatment team of mental health professionals from different disciplines under one roof. This is actualized using a true biopsychosocial approach leading to a comprehensive mental health treatment plan beyond psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. I am a board certified nurse practitioner with a focus on psychiatric consultation and medication management. I have experience working with adolescents and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and attention and concentration difficulties. My treatment philosophy is to prescribe the least number of medications at the safest and lowest effective dose possible and should ideally, be paired with psychotherapy and other lifestyle interventions, including nutrition, physical activity, and meditation.

Dr. DeSarbo is a Board Certified psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of EATING DISORDERS and general psychiatry including mood disorders, anxiety issues, ADHD, OCD, relationship issues. In addition to psychopharmacology, he also practices CBT and existential therapy. He is the Medical Director of ED-180 Eating Disorder Treatment Programs which provides custom intensive treatment programs for patients in the Long Island/NYC area. He is also an author, a lecturer and the founder and host of the annual Long Island Conference on Eating Disorders. He oversees a full staff of therapists and clinicians at his offices.

I treat a wide spectrum of emotional and psychological concerns and problems from children to adults, providing compassionate, experienced and personalized psychiatric and psychotherapy services.

Dr. Lopez-Larson is a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and received her MD from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. She performed her adult and child psychiatry training at Harvard Medical School training sites including Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital and Cambridge Hospital, respectively. She has been practicing for over 15 years in a variety of settings including academic research, inpatient, residential and outpatient psychiatric services.

Dr. Marken is a Columbia- and Cornell-trained, board-certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist. He was on faculty at Harvard Medical School and is now on faculty at New York University. Dr. Marken predominantly provides psychotherapy and/or medication management. He has a patient-centered approach that provides thorough and individualized care for your particular needs. As a physician, Dr. Marken focuses on the interaction between the biological, the psychological, and the environmental contributors to mental health. He is a member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry and works with athletes at all levels.

I see clients for med evals & management, 2nd opinions and robust patient edu. My clients are wide-ranging: some are brand new to treatment; others have chronic mental illness, whether stable or during an acute episode; I accept pt's looking for a f/u provider after a psych hospitalization; I accept new-onset mental illness, whether due to substance use, an acute stressor or another factors. Some pts who anticipate difficult upcoming life-changes, like a pregnancy, job change, in-laws moving in, etc., may choose to see me prophylactically — often, some of these patients find quick relief just knowing there’s a plan in place.
