My passion for empowering and aiding individuals in their wellness journey began 20 years ago. While working with under-served communities in New Haven and Hartford Counties, I was fortunate enough to interact and develop meaningful relationships with individuals of various cultural backgrounds. I continue to apply this philosophical thinking and practice while serving my patients in order to provide an individualized, holistic treatment.

Dr. Yan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University with honors in Economics. She holds a law degree from Harvard and was a practicing attorney before pursuing her medical education at New York University School of Medicine. While in medical school, she won the Best Research Presentation Award for the Jack Cary Eichenbaum Summer Scholars Program. She received her residency training in psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she served on the Mental Health Crisis Response Team during the Covid pandemic.

Dr. Blake Werner is an adult and addiction psychiatry board-certified physician who has been in practice for the past 4 years. He received his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, before moving to charming Charleston, SC to complete his residency in adult psychiatry. Following residency, Dr. Werner completed a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. Post-fellowship, Dr. Werner joined the Yale faculty as an assistant professor and was employed through the Veterans Affairs, treating substance use disorders in an outpatient clinical setting.

I am a compassionate and skilled PMHNP with dual-board certifications in Family Medicine and Psychiatry. I obtained my BSN from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I then received a MSN specializing in family medicine from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. I earned a Post-Master’s Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Massachusetts Worcester Medical School. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse healthcare settings, including primary care, surgical, psychiatric, and within the VA healthcare system, where I dedicated my services to veterans.

I'm a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN), licensed to prescribe psychiatric medication across the lifespan. At our practice, we collaborate with patients and their therapists to use medications conservatively, while always incorporating holistic methods to assist in recovery. I have 30 years of experience as a chiropractor, treating patients without the use of medication. Now, with the ability to prescribe medication, I carry with me the philosophy that judicious medication use is key in treatment plans. My strength is in adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.

I have over 15 years of experience as a nurse with the last 8 years focused on mental health and substance use. I pride myself in taking a humanistic, person-centered approach to helping individuals manage mental illness through psychopharmacological, psychotherapeutic, and lifestyle interventions. Dr. Weiss is a board-certified Staff Psychiatrist at Talkiatry with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions including: depression and bipolar spectrum disorders; anxiety; stress and adjustment problems; ADD/ADHD; maternal mental health; OCD; and other disorders. He has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, college and graduate students, creative professionals, and the range of working adults. For the past decade, and prior to joining the staff of Talkiatry, Dr. Weiss worked at The New School as the university’s staff psychiatrist.

Dr. Ernesto Gonzalez is a board certified adult psychiatrist. He completed his undergraduate training at Yale University and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School Adult Psychiatry Training Program. Dr. Gonzalez prefers a holistic approach that takes the time to know the whole patient, incorporating biological, psychological, social, and cultural perspectives in crafting a comprehensive, individualized, treatment plan.

My realization from working with mental health, addiction & chronic pain plays an enormous role in my patient's quality of life.
