I am a board certified psychiatrist and fully trained psychoanalyst who has worked with adults in private practice for almost 25 years. Starting with a new therapist can feel daunting. My aim is to provide a safe atmosphere that will allow us to discuss what is distressing you. In therapy we might explore aspects of your life that are sensitive, painful, difficult or have never before been verbalized. The goal is that you will gain some new perspectives and bring these insights into your lived experience outside the therapy relationship.

I am a psychiatrist/psychoanalyst with an interest in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Relational Psychoanalysis, psychiatric diagnosis, and the impact of anxiety on self-esteem, relational issues, and overall well-being of children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, I have extensive experience treating and supervising others who treate people suffering from narcissism, trauma, dissociation, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I primarily offer weekly to more intensive psychoanalytic treatment. I mostly prescribe medications to help patients feel good enough to engage more fully in their lives and psychotherapy.

As a board-certified psychiatrist, I am comfortable and enthusiastic about working with people using psychotherapy, medication management when needed, or the two together when it makes sense. I will take the time to get to know you and collaborate with you on finding the best approach to treatment.

Psychiatry should not just be about providing medicine and treating an acute medical problem, but to help you understand yourself, enjoy life, cope with adversity, and help discover your true inner self. Attended Vanderbilt University on a full tuition Chancellor's scholarship and completed my M.D. at Baylor in the Houston Medical Center. Beyond Psychiatry board certification, I pursued extensive psychodynamic/analytic training via the Cincinnati Institute, and New Center for Psychoanalysis. In addition to my private practice I'm also a consult-liaison Psychiatrist at Cedars Sinai Beverly Hills medical center, Baptist Health Medical center, and Orbit telehealth. Dr. Sager studied at UCLA in General Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry where he did research studies in child development and attachment disorders in infancy. He remains an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA. He started his private practice in 1967 in General and Child Psychiatry and after five years returned to the LA Psychoanalytic Institute to receive special training in intensive psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Dr. Sager's practice branched out to inpatient work with adults, children and adolescents.

Dr. Roth has over 25 years of experience as a board certified adult and child psychiatrist. He is also an adult psychoanalyst affiliated with the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and a Qualified Medical Evaluator in psychiatry for injured workers in the State of California.
