Liz Vaughan is a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with a specialty focus in Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Duke University in 2019. Liz received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing also from Duke University in 2014. Liz has 7 years of previous pediatric nursing experience, ranging from intensive care, to cardiac, to pediatric oncology/bone marrow transplant, to outpatient neurology and mental health. During her MSN coursework at Duke, Liz was one of the first students to take part in the Pediatric Mental Behavioral Health Specialty program.

Joy has worked for 12 years as Psychiatric Nurse with all ages and in different settings. These include inpatient, community, nursing home and group home settings. Joy also worked outpatient providing psychotherapy for patients with drug use and addiction. Joy is a culturally sensitive provider, a good listener, empathetic and always ready to help.

I partner with my patients to find the best treatment options for their circumstances. Although medication is often an important part of treatment, providing other resources to patients to help with their mental health is an important part of my approach to patient care. Mari-Jane Shaffer is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Advaita Integrated Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina. Specifically, she is a post masters' certificate prepared advanced practice nurse. She has been a registered nurse for 38 years and a nurse practitioner for 8 years. After working with patients in a variety of settings as an RN for 28 years, she decided to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing degree at Duke University specializing in Family Practice. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she realized that working with patients on their mental health was pivotal in order for them to achieve optimal wellness.

I strive to understand patients as more than a list of psychiatric symptoms — instead, I see patients as complex individuals, who are trying their best given their personal life histories and unique neurobiology. Dr. Carnetha Simmons has been practicing as a board certified Adult, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, for over 14 years. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and completed her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent Fellowship at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina.

Dr. Sharyn Comeau has been practicing as a board certified Adult, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, for over 29 years. She completed her Undergraduate Degree at Pace University, and her Graduate Degree at New York University and received her medical degree from Ross University in Dominica West Indies. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency at the University of Connecticut Hartford and Pediatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
