Hello! I am a wife, mother, artist, therapist and psychiatrist, and I would love to hear from you. With each patient, I take a highly personalized approach, focused on developing a relationship which informs the treatment plan. Most of my patients suffer from anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life stressors. I believe in carefully using medications to relieve symptoms, often coupled with insight oriented psychotherapy. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have previous nursing experience in critical care, emergency medicine, inpatient psychiatry, and inpatient detox. I also have specialized trauma-informed care training in the role as a sexual assault nurse examiner. I would love to use my passion for health and wellness combined with psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to optimize my patients' mental health.

She performed her adult and child psychiatry training at Harvard Medical School training sites including Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital and Cambridge Hospital, respectively. She has been practicing for over 15 years in a variety of settings including academic research, inpatient, residential and outpatient psychiatric services.

My role involves addressing symptoms and challenges that patients face with medication, but also identifying other factors that could contribute to their mental health. This includes medical conditions, lifestyle factors, coping skills, and more. I always encourage my patients to participate in therapy. I offer genetic testing to help narrow down psychotropic medication options and to help patients understand why previous medications may not have worked. I empower my patients to actively participate in making decisions. I feel it is important to be an advocate of your own care.

Michelle has 4 years of experience in outpatient psychiatry. Before working as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Michelle worked for several years on an inpatient psychiatry unit. Michelle earned her doctorate in nursing from Duke University. She has two master's degrees in nursing from Capital University and The Ohio State University. She received two bachelor's degrees, one in education from Ohio University and one in nursing from Capital University.
