Relational psychotherapy can be an effective tool when grappling with: anxiety, care taking/giving tendencies, narcissistic and neglectful parenting, attachment, self-sufficiency, hypervigilance, isolation, authenticity, masculinity, meaninglessness, depression, shame, complex emotional and intergenerational trauma, identity, and existential angst. My practice is informed by an attachment, trauma, and neurobiological perspective and grounded in mindfulness and empathy. Additionally, my approach considers the wider social, political and economic context of your relational world.
In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to better understand your subjective world and the impact of your history on your relationships, emotional well-being, and sense of self. Working collaboratively means that our sessions will be non-hierarchical and together we will actively and genuinely engage with your experiences so that you feel understood.
Creating a safe space that is validating, identity-affirming, and non-judgmental is essential for our work together. I practice relational/intersubjective psychotherapy, and I also trained in DBT, IFS, emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples certified as a trauma professional (CCTP). CRPO recognized relational supervision is available.
