Most people who come to me are struggling with challenges that fall into one of four main categories: 1) anxiety, and other struggles with emotional regulation, 2) relationship difficulties, with family, friends, stress, work, nature, society, spirituality, and oneself, 3) direction, related to life purpose or career, and 4) depression, and grief-related challenges. I work with adult individuals (16 and up) and couples seeking guidance, support, and tools to help navigate life struggles with more self-awareness and agency. I also offer individual and group clinical supervision to therapists.
My work involves "talk therapy". However, both the cognitive and the experiential are honoured, allowing for an embodied, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive exploration. The three pillars of my work are mindfulness, holistic approach, and the prioritization of relationship. Techniques and interventions that support these pillars are employed (see website).
My experience working in the field of alternative healthcare since 1996, first as a Registered Massage Therapist, then as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, and now as a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, has helped to shape a truly holistic approach to health and well-being.
