After every session I write a letter to my clients. I have been doing this for over 15 years and have written thousands of letters over that time. This letter serves as the case note, meaning that I am providing my clients with an immediate access to their medical records. Research tells us that this use of a narrative letter, written after every session has the impact to the client of two counselling sessions. I have heard from my clients that this letter is very valuable and helpful for them as they navigate their counselling journey. This sets me apart from other counsellors and is very unique in the field of psychotherapy.
I also practice from a non-pathologizing perspective, meaning that you will never be the problem - the problem is the problem. I have written a textbook on this approach and teach hundreds of other therapists on how to do this approach. My textbook is called "Non-Pathologizing Approach To Counselling" and is available through Amazon.
In addition, an hour session with me is an actual hour. I have a timer that goes off when we have five minutes left so we can wind up our session. The paperwork is completed by the client before we first met so we don't waste your money and time on any additional paperwork. This allows us to get right to work on the presenting problems.
