I strongly believe that the most powerful tool I have as a therapist is the ability to offer my clients an opportunity to share their stories without judgment. Having someone who treats you with kindness and unconditional positive regard while validating your emotional responses to life’s difficulties can be very healing. I have an abundance of experience in trauma treatment, including trauma from sexual assaults, human trafficking, and childhood abuse. I am also passionate about first-responder complex trauma. Another area I am passionate about it is sexual and relational health; I am a kink-aware, sex and body-positive person.
My therapeutic style may best be described as integrative. I work collaboratively with my clients to create treatment plans best suited to each individual. I work from various psychotherapeutic lenses and make use of modalities including mindfulness, somatic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and strengths-based healing.
Our minds and bodies are connected, and we often must address them together. I strive to challenge clients’ negative thinking patterns while decreasing unhelpful behaviours and increasing beneficial ones. I invite clients to listen to their bodies and practice relaxation techniques often. Let’s work together to restore and realign your well-being.
