Lea Harrell Kirkland

Psychiatrist , MD

(336) 790-9615
My practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of children, adolescents and adults who deal with problems including anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD and other behavior or emotional problems that affect the quality of life and healthy development of indivduals. I see patients using a combination of medication and psychotherapy as well as medication management alone in conjunction with other therapists. I am board certified in both adult and child/adolesent psychiatry. I practiced Internal Medicine and was board certified in general internal medicine prior to training in psychiatry.
Anxiety disorders like social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD and general anxiety respond well to medication and psychotherapy and affect patients of all ages. Depression and other mood disorders present differently depending on a patient's age. Younger patients often are referred when their problems affect normal growth and development.
