I am a Harvard-trained relational psychiatrist, who practiced in Boston after completing my residency in 1995 until relocating to Tucson in 2010. I provide both psychotherapy and medication management services for those clients who seek the unique integration of medical treatment with a psychodynamic focus. I encourage patient empowerment through time-intensive education about symptom management that is otherwise impossible in rushed medical settings. That education combined with a psychological mindfulness of unconscious feelings and motivations has proven successful in helping clients accomplish meaningful and enduring psychospiritual healing.
I have expertise in the psychopharmacological treatment of Mood Disorders (Bipolar Disorder) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. All patients coming into my practice are provided a thorough and independent evaluation (despite past treatment history). I do not treat children under the age of 16, and I do NOT treat ADHD.
I enjoy working with clients to understand how their individual psychologies are shaped by the world around us, attending to how the unique factors of gender, race, class and culture impact who we are and who we become.
