I am a 70 year old developmental Psychiatrist who practices evaluation, psychotherapy and medication management in a private pay outpatient office. I see child, adolescent and adult patients with AD/HD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and complex psychiatric cases.I do not bill insurance but instead, I provide you a "super bill" that shows payment and enables you to recoup your costs out of network. Nothing is better than an individualized interactive assessment (with all due respect for checklists). I am trained in a wide variety of psychotherapy approaches and try and find the ones that apply to each patient.
Psychiatry, at its best, is a great synthetic medical specialty that incorporates most explanatory health paradigms, including alternative, complementary and traditional evidenced based treatments. Children generally need to be seen with parents and understood within a family system, including their genetic family tree. The evaluation process relies heavily on serious, focused problem solving dialogue.
I have very diverse training and experience. I have done brain imaging. I served 13 years in the military (exit in 1986). I have been through three years of personal training psychotherapy and logged many thousands of hours of psychotherapy back when it was held in higher regard.
