I maintain a private practice in psychotherapy & psychopharmacology, and am affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. I have received numerous awards & fellowships which have afforded me the opportunity to study the biological underpinning of mental illness. As such, I have an extensive background in psychopharmacology & the neuroscience of mental illness.
I also strongly believe in the value of psychotherapy & the power of change through increased self-understanding. I adapt my consultations and treatment to the unique individual seeking help and foster a safe and secure shared space.
This diverse background has allowed me to develop a philosophy of approaching the patient as a whole person, with less focus on categorizing & labeling as I feel this tends to undercut the incredible complexity of the human mind and can hinder one's ability to listen attentively, empathically and hence fully understand why a person is suffering.
