Every individual is a unique mixture of emotional health and sickness. Healthy impulses come from our basic desires to understand, be productive and to love. My job as a psychiatrist is to make contact with a person's uniqueness and to relieve pain and suffering, thereby freeing his or her underlying health. Often this can be achieved in therapy without medication. Before starting medical school I maintained a private practice as a social worker for more than fifteen years. I later trained in both child/adolescent and adult psychiatry. I treat patients from infancy to seniority.
