I specialize in the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders. I especially focus on treatment resistant cases where often you may feel hopeless and despairing. I emphasize a combination of medication and therapy approaches. I collaborate closely with therapists. I also administer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) (TMS) to treat severe depression, along with the best medications have to offer. All of this happens within a supportive therapeutic relationship.
While at Penn I specialized in treatment resistant depression and conducted research. Over the last 15 years I have been particularly involved in the development of brain stimulation devices to treat mood disorders. These include TMS, VNS, DBS, MST, sTMS, dTMS and tDCS. I provide TMS treatment in my practice.
