I am a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston College and a Teaching Associate at Harvard Medical School. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a registered yoga teacher, I specialize in providing mindful mental health services, including prescribing psychiatric medications and using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I utilize mindfulness-based techniques, such as MBCT and yoga in my treatment plans to support holistic mental health and meet the unique wellness goals of my clients. I provide new prescriptions or refills of psychiatric medications based on the needs and preferences of each individual.

Naila worked as a psychiatric nurse for five years before obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing from Regis College and graduated summa cum laude. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with 11 years of experience. Particular interests of mine include working with anxiety and mood disorders.  I provide a thoughtful evaluation of your condition and on-going medication management. We will work together to find the lowest dose of effective medications that will reduce your suffering and minimize side effects.

The decision to seek help for a mental health issue does not always come naturally. Many people endure needless suffering for months or years even, rather than seek help. The reasons why vary. Some are skeptical about the effectiveness of mental health therapy or concerned about the need for medication. Whatever the reason for not seeking help, it is absolutely crucial that you give yourself a break. Sometimes they are the product of conflicts with a long history that result in frustrating repetitions that cost the patient time, pleasure, and fulfillment. Until these conflicts and feelings can be talked about they will show up as action and people will feel stuck and hopeless. Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis can break this logjam and free the individual to choose their own course.
