I am a Columbia-trained psychiatrist. I have a small private practice on the Upper West Side, which allows me to maintain a high level of focus on each of my patients. My goal is to collaboratively create an individualized and humanistic treatment tailored for each person who seeks treatment with me. I make use of multiple psychotherapy techniques in combination with medications. I treat a variety of mental health problems including anxiety and depression, psychosis, insomnia, and difficulty concentrating. I also focus on helping people whose troubles do not fit so neatly with these diagnoses.
When managing medications, I incorporate treatments backed by the best evidence and clinical experience. I collaborate with patients to reach their goals for seeking treatment. I often work with people who are having troubles reaching their educational or academic goals, or creative pursuits, due to mental health issues.
I also work at Columbia Presbyterian's psychiatric emergency room, where I see patients in psychiatric emergencies, supervise residents, and teach medical students. During residency I was recognized nationally with the National Institute of Mental Health Outstanding Resident Award. I am also a past fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
