I am a board certified psychiatrist and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the NYU Langone Medical Center. In the past, for several years as a team leader in Forensic Psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital, I treated the most complicated legal and clinical mental health cases in NYC. Later, as the VNSNY Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team psychiatrist, I spent years addressing the mental health crisis needs of the largest catchment area in Manhattan. Currently, I continue to work as a psychiatric consultant to the Redeemer Counseling Services in NYC.
For many years, I have enjoyed helping patients in my private practice better understand how their psychology and psychiatry interact to achieve better psychological and emotional balance. I also collaborate with top NYC ENT surgeons, speech-language pathologists, and vocal professors to address the mental health concerns of vocalists.
After years of psychoanalytic training, I often see patients several times weekly to explore more deeply complex issues like career disillusionment, mistrust of intimacy, and the inner hurdles to personal success.
