I work best with people who want to change and improve, but most importantly accept responsibility for themselves and their need to be proactive. Blaming others is futile. The question is what do do differently and better. Better feelings follow better function. With children, and those who have been abused or beaten down I lend them some ego strength and plenty of support. Patients need not waste life looking back but live and enjoy life going forward.
All patients have a thorough Neuropsychiatric evaluation and clear diagnosis. I address many medical and neurological issues. Prescriptions are precise and don't cover the need for personal growth and responsibility. Many of my patients have previously been labelled Psychosomatic.
I engage, appropriately, with patients. Humor, the real relationship, respect and courtesy are all involved. I'm not a sounding board; I talk back. Usually quite directly.
