Connie K. Hirsh, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist who has been practicing psychiatry since 1988. She has special interests in the psychopharmacology of mood, anxiety, and adult attention deficit disorders. Before moving to Columbus in 2004, she worked as a psychiatrist in Muncie, Indiana and Detroit, Michigan. Past professional work includes private practice, community mental health, inpatient, consultation/liaison and emergency psychiatry. At Henry Ford Hospital she was the Director of Emergency Psychiatry, and taught psychopharmacology and interviewing skills to resident physicians.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner trained in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a variety of mental health conditions. My previous experience includes working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. My interest in Psychology began by spending time with my stepfather, who was a psychiatrist. I became very interested in schizophrenia in 7th grade, which was a surprise to my teacher. I remember my stepfather helping me figure out how to pronounce medications during a trip to see my grandparents. In college, in the 1980’s, I volunteered for a domestic violence shelter/suicide hotline. I took every Psychology course offered by my undergraduate university as my electives.
