During the 50+ years I have been serving the community as a nurse and mental health therapist I have learned that you who come to me for help have your own answers locked inside. My work is to share my skills and experience to help you unravel your confusion and ease your emotional pain. Couples with relationship issues learn to listen. In a series of happy coincidences, my life took an unexpected turn in the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Master’s program where I was able to secure a spot in the psychiatric/mental health specialty. Much of my practice has been in community mental health which has been fulfilling, enlightening and educational. I’m comfortable with diagnosing and providing medication for depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD and sleep issues and providing education about the medication.

Meet Dr. Alexander: a psychiatrist with a distinctive blend of empathy and expertise. Trained at Wright State University with a focus on integrating psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, Dr. Alexander excels in delivering personalized treatment plans with proven effectiveness. She actively engages with the narratives that shape patients' lives, forging therapeutic alliances as unique as the individuals she serves. This patient-first approach, combined with a rich background in community engagement, positions Dr. Alexander as a psychiatrist who understands the complexities of the complete human experience - mind, body and spirit.

I offer patient-centered care and that means a collaborative effort of decision making is performed to provide the treatment services you want or need to ensure recovery or optimal functioning. I provide quality treatment that leads to recovery, personal development, and helps you to achieve your treatment goals for success and optimal functioning for daily living. I have over 10 years of psychiatric experience in both outpatient and inpatient treatment in crisis stabilization, substance use services.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of specific conditions and symptoms. I conduct psychiatric evaluations, provide medication management, and when appropriate provide psychotherapeutic interventions.
