While I provide psychopharmacological treatment, I believe that treatment should be dynamic, person centered with strong emphasis on life style and behavioral changes as well as environmental supports. Working with a multidisciplinary team is the most effective approach to manage mental health conditions, this is why I REQUIRE that all my clients MUST BE actively engaged on individual/behavioral therapy.

I'm a board certified psychiatrist with an MD from Brown University, fellowship training in Women's Mental Health, and a faculty member at Brown University. I aim to create a highly individualized care plan, tailored to each patient's goals and vision of care. My practice is designed to be small to allow for flexibility, accessibility and attentiveness to each of my patients. Our work together will be empathic, supportive and collaborative. I am now available to see patients in person or via telehealth in RI and virtually for those in MA.

Dr. Arcia is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. She obtained her MD degree from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Thereafter, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine, before pursuing residency training in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Brighton, MA), where she also served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry. She has over 13 years of clinical experience in both in-patient and out-patient treatment of patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, especially in patients with medical comorbidities. She is also certified in electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) by Cornell University.

I accept all MassHealth/ private insurance (some still pending) and can offer Same Day or Next Day appointments for new patients. Open dialogue is very important between myself and my patients. I want you to feel that you can bring any problem to me and, if I am not able to address it, I will help assist you in finding someone who can. It is important that there be honesty within the relationship so that I may best assist you, this includes being vocal about relapses so that we may work together to get past it. I want there to be a safe space where the patient can communicate all their needs without scrutiny or judgement.

I am a board-certified English/Spanish bilingual psychiatric nurse practitioner treating mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder and PTSD. Skilled in assessment, diagnosis and medication management through evidence-based care for safe and effective outcomes, I build targeted and individualized treatment plans for patients while providing therapeutic support and a willingness to collaborate with therapists for mutual patients. Throughout more than eight years of experience, I’ve provided patient care across a variety of settings, including ER care, inpatient psychiatry and outpatient psychiatry.

I have worked with integrated behavioral health primary care clinics, community, and federal qualified health centers, and private practices.

Katherine brings a humanistic approach to her practice. She uses her background in primary care medicine as well as psychiatry to provide compassionate and client-focused care, and to meet the needs of each patient as individuals. Katherine’s clinical experience is broad and includes adult medicine, geriatrics, community health, and college health. Katherine provides medication therapy using evidence-based practice, which include micro-dosing strategies for care tailored to individual needs.

With nearly three decades of experience in psychiatry, focusing on neuropsychiatric conditions that affect mood and cognition, my goal is to deliver new, effective therapies to those struggling with depression, anxiety, post-COVID syndromes, cognitive impairments, and more. With my extensive background in neuropsychopharmacology (and affiliations with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School as Director of Photobiomodulation and Associate Professor respectively), I always start with the most scientifically proven treatments. I ensure that my approach aligns with the latest, evidence-based standards.

With over three decades’ experience in academic and corporate environments, my current work as a Psychiatric DNP has evolved from observing the challenges and successes of colleagues and students and their relationship to emotional HEALTH and the ABILITY to FOCUS on daily and long-term goals. After working in several outpatient and inpatient facilities for almost two decades, I’ve developed a holistic approach in managing clients. I have more than 20 years of clinical experience working In academia and private practice. I am a board certified psychiatrist affiliated with Children’s Hospital and I am assistant professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. I am a graduate of Temple University Hospital in adult psychiatry and Children’s Hospital, Boston in adolescent psychiatry. I work with young adult ages 17 and above. I provide medication management in a welcoming and safe environment where your concerns are discussed with an open mind and no judgment. My office is close to the green t line in the Brookline area.
