The Neuropsychiatric Institute provides Outpatient Behavioral Health Services for Adults, Families, Children and Adolescents. We believe that as long as you have your problems under control, then you do not need our assistance. However, if the problems have control over you, then you should seek help. Our approach is an eclectic, common sense approach. "Whatever works, works." Although we do utilize medications, our approach is to keep them to a minimum. There is no magic pill to solve problems.

My approach is to understand and treat the whole person by recognizing their unique set of circumstances, conflicts, strengths, and background. I tailor treatment plans to each individual's unique presentation after careful evaluation of their biological, psychological, and social makeup. Such treatment plans integrate the latest evidence for the best treatments. Treatment recommendations might include psychotherapy, medications, and/or suggestions for lifestyle changes. I often serve as the psychotherapist for my clients but also enjoy serving as a psychiatric consultant to individuals engaged in psychotherapy elsewhere.

In my experience as a physician and psychiatrist all diseases, whether mental or physical, are a product of ancestral or generational trauma, which we have to resolve in this life. The symptoms and signs of disease tend to be entangled with our Unconscious Mind. We often times end up doing things, we are not aware of as a unresolved coping mechanism of trauma, like our family has done for ages. I am looking for clients who wish to address the deeper psychological conflicts that underlie their disease and who are ready to transform and let go of the past.

I am a Harvard-trained Child, Adolescent, and Adult psychiatrist who offers online visits to patients in the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, California, and Florida. I believe that you should be able to receive the best care, on your terms and that treatment should not interfere with other life pursuits, but enhance them. I work closely with your therapist and other treaters and provide expert medication management across the diagnostic spectrum, including my particular expertise in depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.

TMS is a good option for patients with depression who have failed to respond adequately to several trials of antidepressants and or who could not tolerate treatment with medications. They must have also tried some therapies such as CBT. These are basically the criteria for insurance coverage with some nuances. At this time it is covered through Cigna, United Health Care, BCBS, Aetna, Tricare, Medicare. We are the only TMS facility to offer treatment to TEENS and CHILDREN OFF LABEL that I am aware of. We are the first Tampa practice to offer a Theta Burst protocol. We have a EEG system on site but it is not covered by insurance.

I provide Meaning Centered therapy for those who need a limited number of sessions to deal with a specific issue. EMDR may be used if appropriate. Persons seeking Meaning Centered psychotherapy should: be open to dealing with problems in daily life rather than focusing on a diagnosis; not look for immediate relief or expect the outcome to be a smooth life; have a desire to think and explore their lives as well as question and be questioned; be able to question the status quo. My approach is interpersonal. I also offer medication management and integrate natural supplements added to prescription medications whenever possible.
