Practicing for all these years in a field that I love, I have developed deep and lasting bonds with many of them. I am both a psycho-pharmacologist and a psycho-therapist. I treat numerous psychiatric & personality disorders but specialize in Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, adult ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, Women's Mental Health, and HIV psychiatry. Welcome! I am an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree from The George Washington University. I have over a decade of experience in healthcare including nursing experience in the emergency department, as a sexual assault nurse examiner, and in substance use and inpatient eating disorder treatment. I have a trauma-informed approach and treat people of every educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic background, as well as every sexual orientation. I am a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Women's Nurse Practitioner with a decade of experience working within diverse clinical settings. I have partnered with individuals and families experiencing a myriad of mental and physical challenges developing deep empathy for the human experience in all of its complexity. I work collaboratively with each patient to create a personalized care plan integrating evidence-based practices with integrative and complementary approaches. My work has spanned diverse environments, from mental health crisis and substance use to alternative and emerging treatments. My areas of expertise include Mind Body Medicine and the psychodynamic treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, trauma, and issues relating to body image. I’m a board-certified general adult psychiatrist with experience treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders. I earned my medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed psychiatry residence at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. I am board certified in psychiatry and a proud therapist with the American Alpine Association's Climbing Grief Fund and the American Avalanche Association Resilience Project. I earned a B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech and a masters in counseling at George Washington University. I worked as an LPC in eating disorders, addictions, and general psychiatry for 7 years before completing my Doctor of Nursing Practice. My doctoral project focused on cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders and the relationship between exercise, anxiety/depression, and cardiovascular health. I am also a former paramedic.

My experience as a midwife over the last 14 years fosters my love for serving.
