Hello, my name is Krystyna de Jacq, and I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I believe that there is no health without mental health. Leila Jean Baptiste is a medical doctor with more than ten years of experience, specializing in General Adult Psychiatry, who treats patients between 18 to 65. Leila obtained her medical degree at The State University of Haiti, where she specialized and completed her training as chief resident in Pediatrics. She then moved to the USA and continued her training with a second specialization in Adult General Psychiatry at the Westchester Medical Center Hospital in Valhalla, NY. Leila has a special interest in mental health advocacy and serves as an executive member in the Haitian American Psychiatry Association(HAPA).

I understand mental health disorders as being a very disruptive time in one's life. I do not generally medicate on the first visit, rather I take the time to properly diagnose and titrate medication appropriately when warranted.

He now brings to Philadelphia the latest knowledge to help kids, parents, and adult patients.

I am an Ivy League-trained and triple-board certified psychiatrist in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and addiction medicine. My expertise is in diagnosing and treating complex psychiatric conditions, including late-life depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use, and other disorders.

I worked as an internist before training in psychiatry and then in psychoanalysis. My patients are generally people who are unhappy in some way in spite of their success in their career or family life or both - often people for whom medication and psychotherapy has not worked or worked only partially in the past . Most of my work is insight oriented talk therapy or psychoanalysis. However some patients whom I see only for medication I see only a couple of times each year.

I have been Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for over 20 years. I graduated from medical school in Paris and completed my psychiatry residency at Yale University. I joined the faculty at Yale University, and then at NYU until 2011. I have been Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College since 2011. I had been Unit Chief at NewYork Presbyterian for more than 10 years since 2011. I am fluent in English, French, and Hebrew.
