I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist with over 40 years of experience who does medication management and psychotherapy. I am adjunct faculty at St. Elizabeth's hospital with my wife, Deborah K. Ward, DCSW. We teach couples therapy and lead a process group. I have advanced training in Imago Relationship Therapy, family and individual therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Gestalt therapy. I support principles of Conscious Uncoupling and Imago Parent training, focusing on the family's need for listening and understanding. I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in the Biological Basis of Behavior and competed on the Men's Varsity Swimming Team. After graduating and prior to medical school, I became a private high school science teacher. I completed my Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC, where I was selected as Chief Resident. During that time, I also completed a Psychodynamic Fellowship at New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I then completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health with a focus on Depression and Anxiety.
