As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my goal is providing patient centered care for patients who struggle to be heard and to manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and a unique focus on holistic care. Working with mental health patients in the unserved and vulnerable communities, where the obstacles affecting adequate healthcare are made worse by financial difficulties, has been the most rewarding aspect my job. I have an array of experiences before becoming a Mental Health Provider. I conducted research for almost 10 years in HIV: LA Gay and Lesbian Center and Oncology : Stanford Children’s Hospital. For many years taught classes for at-risk youth with mental health struggles in San Francisco. I have experience in Women's health such as postpartum depression, and helping moms enjoy their babies. I have a passion for making mental health awareness in the Latino community. I am fluent in Spanish. I believe we all have choices. It is important when starting a mental health journey. Dr. Stephens is a board-certified psychiatrist who received specialty training at UCLA and completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry. He is a compassionate and experienced physician with years of clinical experience. Dr. Stephens understands the unique challenges that come with mental illness, and he provides a safe and non-judgmental space for his patients to explore their feelings and work towards healing. His approach is tailored to each individual, using evidence-based techniques to provide effective and personalized care.
