I am a psychiatrist in private practice at Raleigh Psychiatric Associates since 2015. Treatments offered include both medications and psychotherapy. I treat adult men and women with depression, anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety and panic disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and substance use disorders. My sub-specialty is women's reproductive mental health. This includes women who are planning a pregnancy, currently pregnant, or postpartum, as well as women struggling with infertility, pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), or menopause-related mood and anxiety problems.

Dr. Siera Kirkland is an adult general psychiatrist. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Kirkland focuses on collaborative and evidence-based care. Dr. Eric Morse helps people recover from many substance use disorders and mental illnesses. He has a busy Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) maintenance program for opioid use disorder within his private practice in Carolina Performance (see www.CarolinaPerformance.net) at the American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness. Dr. Morse is also a Sports Psychiatrist for NC State. I am a Board Certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and have been serving in the area since 2013. I have earned my Master’s in Nursing at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I earned my BA from Meredith College in Raleigh and my Nursing degree from Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. I have previously worked as a nurse at UNC Hospital Psychiatric Inpatient Units, the WakeBrook Recovery Center and for Easter Seals Home Health. As a Nurse Practitioner I have worked in various outpatient clinics in Raleigh and Durham.

Dr. R. Dewayne Book is a Psychiatrist who specializes in addictive disorders, having studied neurobiology and biochemistry to understand chemical brain functions. This knowledge informs his well-rounded, individualized approach to treating patients struggling with addiction, an approach that also includes medication management, medication assisted treatment / medication assisted therapy (MAT), psychotherapy, patient education, and social network development. Dr. Book also offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) at Advaita Integrated Medicine.

Dr. Michele Kerbow is a board certified psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She completed her undergraduate training at Clemson University before continuing to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC. From there, she completed her General Psychiatry Internship and General Adult Psychiatry Residency through the University of Virginia in Roanoke. Though she has a wide array of experience in psychiatric care and psychological assessment, Dr. Kerbow has a particular interest in the treatment of Veterans' issues and trauma.

My mission as a therapist is to help you achieve personal growth and emotional well-being by utilizing a nonjudgemental, open, and curious approach. I operate from the position that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by our past experiences, especially those from childhood. I work with you to uncover what is beneath the surface in an effort to gain better insight into yourself. I work with people on a broad spectrum of issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, past trauma, body image, and self-esteem.

I pride myself in holding a safe space for patients to be vulnerable -at varying degrees that are comfortable for them. I offer medication management to help patients quiet their symptoms so that they can heal deeply and/or make the changes they need to make in order to live a productive, joyful life of their choosing. As a former science teacher and yoga instructor - one of my strengths is patient education. I enjoy explaining disease processes to patients and educating them about how medications function to help manage their symptoms. I utilize a whole-person approach to incorporate medication management and holistic wellness.
