Dr. Zimko is a Board Certified Psychiatrist in the Tampa Bay Area. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Delaware in 2012 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Minors in Medical Humanities, Medical Diagnostics, and Biology. He graduated from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016 with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated his Psychiatry Residency at Largo Medical Center in 2020 and was Chief Resident in his final year. He serves as part of the the Medical Executive Committee of Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. His hobbies include cooking, home-brewing and spending time with his Wife, Daughter, & Corgi (Luna)

I was born in Miami but grew up right here in Boca Raton. I worked at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston and later in the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. Serving those who served this country was one of the most humbling and enlightening experiences of my life, and it helped me to discover my true passion for Psychiatry. I completed my training in General Psychiatry in Miami and decided to move closer to family. I currently treat those with Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, PTSD and Depression. Born and raised in Cuba, Dr. Carmona received his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in GI & Family Medicine at the Havana Medical School, and practiced as a physician from 2002 to 2009. In 2007, Dr. Carmona moved to the Republic of Namibia in Southern Africa, where for two years he provided critical medical services to roughly twenty-five thousand people living in rural villages and isolated areas.

I have 34 years of prior nursing experience including 20 years in correctional nursing, 7 years in hospital, 10 years in home health, and 2 years in skilled nursing facilities. Since becoming a PMHNP I have worked in the correctional field serving clients with a wide variety of mental health problems.
