It's hard to see a psychiatrist! I see people in distress due to a crisis,a loss, a trauma or a major life change. This distress manifests as depression,mood swings,anxiety, racing thoughts,paranoia,insomnia etc.People are complicated. I do a comprehensive evaluation listening for various psychological, emotional and biologic "clues". This is an interactive and iterative process. "Our" formulation guides the treatment. I practice both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. I often consult for colleagues in psychology and social work regarding the use of medications.I then manage the medications as part of the treatment team.

My career has focused on humanistic and relational approaches to taking care of children, adolescents, adults and families. Shame, stigma and loss impact development in a multitude of ways, and can deter people from reaching their personal and professional goals. Disruption due to trauma, loss, medical and mental health issues can have long lasting effects. I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy and focus on supporting one's resilience and strengths while exploring experiences and feelings which may interfere with forward movement.

Dr. Yeung is a highly skilled and experienced psychiatrist affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He has extensive clinical experience in treating a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions including sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, and attention deficit disorders. Dr. Yeung personalizes treatment to each individual he works with. He utilizes a holistic approach that combines the benefits of medication, dynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and complementary mind-body treatments including mindfulness, tai chi, qigong, and acupuncture.

People go to clinicians with symptoms. The job of a good clinician should be to find out what is causing those symptoms, and then to diagnose and treat those causes, sometimes with medications, sometimes with psychotherapies. Instead, many people receive a drug for each symptom, or psychotherapies instead of appropriate medications. They are then overtreated in many cases, undertreated in others. My approach is to treat diseases, when present, not symptoms. And my approach to diagnosis goes beyond simplistic reliance on DSM labels. This approach is scientifically sound, independent minded, and not the conventional wisdom.

He has nearly 20 years of experience working in the mental health field in various roles including mental health counselor and registered nurse. He has held clinical and management positions. He has primarily worked on inpatient psychiatric units—with both adults and children. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State College and recently his Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice at Regis College.

Grace Ngumi is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Massachusetts. She has over 15 years of experience working as a nurse in various nursing specialties and in particular mental health and dual diagnosis settings. As an NP she has worked with patients seeking help with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and bipolar disorders. Grace completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Curry College in Milton, MA, and received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. My experience is over 16 years providing patient care for adults, and the elderly at the inpatient acute psychiatric units and, outpatient mental health setting. I have worked with integrated behavioral health primary care clinics, community, and federal qualified health centers, and private practices.

Alice Husted is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who has 10 years of experience treating adults and adolescents (13 and older) with an array of mental health issues. Alice has specialized experience working with patients who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which has provided her expertise in treating disorders that are often a result of trauma, such as addictions, mood disorders, and eating disorders.
