Lori Sloan, PMHNP-BC Lori Sloan is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina who has been practicing since 1995. She is Board certified by the ANCC in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing as a registered nurse prior to becoming an advanced practice psychiatric nurse. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mount Olive and a Master of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University. Lori has an ability to cultivate therapeutic relationships with patients with empathy and respect by allowing them to express concerns and worries without fear of judgment.

Then medication is prescribed or adjusted, and a plan of action is made through collaboration. My philosophy for prescribing medication incorporates evidence-based science and wellness. I am an experienced registered nurse, behavioral coach, and certified case manager with excellent client management skills. I recently acquired PMHNP-BC for medication management and psychotherapy. With 34 years of registered nursing experience serving clients with medical and behavioral diagnoses, I am both a good listener and an action-oriented clinician. Over ten years of my nursing career have been spent building telephonic nursing skills. I have developed a strong ability to communicate effectively with clients to find gaps in care and resolve those gaps with education and referrals. I am a customer-service-focused clinician

I completed my training at Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) prior to completing before having my psychiatry residency at the University of Connecticut (UConn Health) where I worked in both adolescent and adult mental health clinics.
