Dr. Shailaja Emani is a board certified psychiatrist passionate about providing holistic, comprehensive, and evidence based psychiatric care. She has a wide variety of experience treating children, adolescents, and adults across treatment settings and complexity levels.

Some challenges and transitions people encounter each day can change outlook, cause stress, bring difficulties, sadness, panic, depression, anxiety and emotional shock. These situations may leave clients confused, distraught and overwhelmed. Focus is to help clients deal with these presenting issues. Working through stressful times and helping clients to attain their optimal level of functioning is a priority. I am Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) since 2017. I received my Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health in 2016 from Northeastern University in Boston. As a Registered Nurse, the majority of my past nursing experience is with women and children. In the realm of school nursing I have served children with special needs, first at the Cotting School in Lexington, then shared between Arlington School and Pathways Academy, both of McLean Hospital, becoming full time at Arlington School of McLean.

Reaching out for help can be scary, and in recognition of this, I strive to provide care in a warm, welcoming, and safe environment. I believe a relationship with mutual respect and trust is a requirement for effective psychiatric care. Being honest, transparent, and “real” with patients is the bedrock of this relationship, and I approach care with this mindset. I’m non-judgmental, relaxed, and will always treat you with compassion and dignity. I use a collaborative approach, and believe that you must be involved in decision-making for your treatment to be effective.

Deanna treats children, adolescents, young adults, and families with complex psychiatric, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and school settings. Deanna specializes in therapies and medication management targeting anxiety disorders, ADHD, and executive function deficits. This expertise extends to evidence-based treatment for a range of conditions, including depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, and trauma-related disorders, among others.

I have a diverse experience in treating a wide variety of psychopathology in both in patient and outpatient settings. I have a lifelong passion for learning and strive to learn and grow, keeping abreast of the latest evidence based treatment approaches so I can provide the best possible outcomes to my patients. I utilize a comprehensive care model in a non judgmental environment to help my patients live a more fulfilling life. I coordinate with therapists, PCP and other health care providers to address all aspects of patient care along the lines of bio psychosocial models. I am empathic, caring and introspective.

Dr. Toppelberg is an experienced, Harvard-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, usually working with ages 3-30. He evaluates and treats emotional/ behavioral difficulties including ADHD, depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, and selective mutism, and those preventing weight loss. He has focused on issues of performance at work, study and competitive sports. He regularly works with tour-level tennis players and other professional and student athletes. He is an expert in neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as learning and language disabilities. He runs psychiatric services at an excellent school for children/adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, the prestigious New England Center for Children.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner, offering consultation, medication management and therapy in downtown Northampton. I care about what makes us unique, as well as what we have in common. My interests include anxiety disorders like panic and OCD, as well as people on the autism spectrum or with social or learning differences. Stephanie L. Weingard graduated from Florida International University, achieving a post-masters certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in inpatient, outpatient and intensive outpatient settings over the past 8 years. She is also a United States Air Force Reservist and works providing mental health care to both active duty and reserve members.

I am a Harvard-trained, Harvard-affiliated, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I am passionate about working collaboratively with my patients to overcome emotional suffering and meet their goals. I provide weekly therapy to teens, college students, and adults in my telehealth private practice and work with patients to determine if medications can be of help. I started my career in nursing in 2016 as an RN at McLean Hospital, working on a substance use disorder unit for adults. In 2017 I completed an NP eating disorder fellowship through Walden Behavioral Care. In 2017 I began working in the MGH Ed performing crisis psychiatric evaluations and follow ups for patients through the lifespan. I continue to work part-time with the Acute psychiatric services team at MGH. 2019-2020 I worked inpatient child psychiatry in Savannah, GA. I am currently working at Boston Children’s Hospital in Waltham on the inpatient and CBAT units.
