I am a board certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist licensed in Connecticut and New York. I have extensive experience in diagnosing and practicing evidence-based medicine in children, adolescents, and adults who have anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and eating disorders as well as providing parenting and behavioral strategies. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, family-based therapy, and supportive psychotherapy with my patients.

Dr Sheila Devlin-Craane - Counseling Associates Inc / EMDR for Trauma is a DNP, & Clinical Specialist, board certified in psychiatric mental health with more than 35 years’ experience. She obtained a doctorate at Fairfield University as a psychiatric DNP. She is also nationally certified in EMDR which is a preferred treatment for trauma and PTSD. I am a board certified child and adolescent Clinical Nurse Specialist providing diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, psychopharmacological interventions, psycho-education, family therapy and couples work. I seek to help individuals understand and cope with their current emotions, stressors and life changes through what is known as the therapist/client connection. This is often over looked. It is a powerful and necessary component to a clients' progress. I am a psychiatrist, Columbia trained, board certified in general psychiatry, with an extensive background in medicine. I specialize in treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders (panic, phobias, generalized anxiety), mood disorders (depression, bipolar), obsessive compulsive states and post traumatic stress disorder. Treatment is with psychotherapy alone or medication plus psychotherapy. Medication management is offered when another therapist is involved. Appointments are given quickly in a warm and welcoming environment that is confidential. With collaboration, patients are encouraged to make their own treatment decisions.

I have extensive training in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. I prefer to see patients for both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, although I am open to working with other therapists. I have affiliation with both NYU and Lenox Hill Hospital and enjoy teaching both psychiatry residents and medical students as a voluntary attending. I provide patient focused therapy.
