I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in the Biological Basis of Behavior and competed on the Men's Varsity Swimming Team. After graduating and prior to medical school, I became a private high school science teacher. I completed my Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC, where I was selected as Chief Resident. During that time, I also completed a Psychodynamic Fellowship at New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I then completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health with a focus on Depression and Anxiety.

She believes that research has shown it to be very effective in treating panic disorders, phobias, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety, among many other conditions.
