I am a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with seven years of extensive experience in psychiatric nursing. My background includes working in both child and adult inpatient settings, as well as providing care in community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment programs. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, I immediately began my career in psychiatric nursing at an inpatient hospital. I am the Medical Director at a community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment center and the Outpatient Mental Health Center.

We understand the needs of any patients. Mental health struggle is a prevalent situation that requires continuous onslaught on the anomaly for the patient to have back his/her life. There are several mental health issues on the ground which include major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder, insomnia, bipolar and the rest of it depending on your situation. Whatever the case, I believe we are equal to the task because we have got experienced providers that would take on the challenge to help our patients consistently take control of their mental health.

I am accepting new patients now. I see patients with the following concerns: depression, anxiety, trauma or PTSD, anger, irritability, OCD spectrum disorders, alcohol and substance use, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other cognitive concerns such as dementia. I also care for patients with sexual disorders, and personality disorders such as borderline or avoidant personality disorders. I specialize in caring for women either planning pregnancy, during, or with postpartum depression, OCD, or anxiety symptoms. I welcome patients with cross-cultural concerns. I welcome patients from the veteran and the LGBTQ+ community.

After training at Hopkins and then serving as full-time staff/faculty at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for many years, I am now in private practice where I treat a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, irritability, OCD, mood swings, Bipolar, and life stressors. I am double Board-Certified, and both a Psychopharmacologist (medication expert) and Psychotherapist (using Cognitive-Behavioral therapy and other approaches). Dr. Lisa Gordon, MD is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with extensive expertise treating a wide variety of mental health conditions and emotional challenges. She has been in practice for over 25 years with significant experience across inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care settings. She specializes in Cultural Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology and began her career as an Assistant Professor, doing research and providing cultural psychiatry training to medical students and residents.
