I am board certified in adult, child, & adolescent psychiatry. My goals are to alleviate suffering and focus on improving my patients' relationships, school or work-life balance, and ultimate acceptance of the self. My preference is to pursue wellness first through therapy, nutrition, exercise, and optimizing sleep. Medications may also be needed, and with my medical background I can prescribe them using safety and the newest evidenced based practices. I feel the therapeutic alliance, or the partnership between a psychiatrist and patient, is essential for an individual to receive the greatest possible benefits from the therapy.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience working in mental health nursing since 2018. My area of specialization includes LGBTQIA+ issues, Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD. Outside of work, I enjoy the company of my two Huskies and two Persian cats. When free, I can be found playing the bass guitar or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. A love for cooking is further fueled by my spouse, a baker, making us quite the culinary team.

My style of practice includes a comprehensive patient-centered focus of care that supports traditional as well as holistic care. I believe that treatment of the whole person to be included as mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. My style of conservative psychopharmcological treatment is designed to be utilized collaboratively with the addition of a primary psychotherapist. Other important aspects of focus in his practice include: complementary and alternative medicine, lifestyle modification, exercise, nutrition, and stress management.

My journey into psychiatric mental health care spans diverse experiences. Originating from Ghana, I earned degrees in Marketing, Psychology, and Political Science before delving into nursing in the United States. With a background in nursing education and a focus on PMHNP, I am pursuing my DNP.

I am a Board-certified adult psychiatrist, practicing Psychiatry since graduating from medical school in 2005. I have also done fellowship in Psychoanalysis from Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and Society and also holds an unrestricted license to prescribe Suboxone for management of patients with opiate addiction. I am originally from Pakistan and come from a family of physicians and surgeons. Following the footsteps of my family members and keeping the tradition of practicing medicine alive, I am now the fourth-generation physician in my family and the third generation practicing medicine in the USA.
