I specialize in functional psychiatry. My ideal client is someone that has been told that their symptoms are "all in their head" and have never had their symptoms taken seriously. Maybe you are on multiple psychotropic medications and they really aren't helping all that much and your provider keeps upping doses without much effect. Or maybe you don't want to take medications at all and want a more natural approach to treating your psychiatric condition. I am a board-certified general psychiatrist. I completed my residency training at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center, as well, as a two-year certification course in psychodynamic psychotherapy at New York Medical College Psychoanalytic Institute. I provide comprehensive, high-quality outpatient mental health services to a broad range of individuals and their families.

Dr. Arcia is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. She obtained her MD degree from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Thereafter, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine, before pursuing residency training in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Brighton, MA), where she also served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry. She has over 13 years of clinical experience in both in-patient and out-patient treatment of patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, especially in patients with medical comorbidities. She is also certified in electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) by Cornell University.

She has been in Emergency Medicine for 10 years, and also works as a Neurology Nurse Practitioner. Marcela's goal at BNBA is to make her patients feel like they can always reach out, and to make them feel their very best. Marcela loves to travel and Florida Gator Football- Go Gators!
