Dr. John Mel McGraw received an A. B from Stanford University in Human Biology in 1979. He graduated from University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver in 1984 and completed his Psychiatric Residency there in 1988. Dr. McGraw has 38 years of diverse experience in the field of Psychiatry in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Among treating depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD and mood disorders his specialties also include treating eating disorder, sexual abuse and trauma. In addition, Dr. McGraw enjoys practicing sports psychiatry and had the privilege of serving as a psychiatric consultant in the 1990 Goodwill Games.

Victoria Brooks is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years experience in the medical field. Victoria earned her Master’s degree in Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University in 2022 and her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2019. Victoria practices in general psychiatry, including (but not limited to) the treatment of depression, mood disorders and anxiety.

Dr. Jane Sanders specializes in educating patients about differential diagnoses, how different medications work, and realistic results to expect with pharmacologic treatment. She approaches each case with equal parts knowledge, open mind, and common sense. Her patients include those who have been through the ringer with multiple failed treatments, as well as patients who are wary of starting medications. At this time, she only sees adult patients, 18yo and up.

Rather than treating disorders, at Mind You Wellness, we focus on evaluating how limitations or symptoms impact life and goals. Then we come up with a plan to optimize individual functioning together. Twelve years of nursing experience allowed me to treat and gain familiarity with people from all walks of life; I also had the opportunity to understand their barriers to functioning at their best. I was born in the United Kingdom, then I lived in the inner city of Philadelphia, and suburbs of NJ until I moved to rural areas of NC. Living in various places contributes to my ability to understand various cultural nuances and impact.

I practice a comprehensive approach to medicine and believe strongly in the importance of treating the mind, body, and spirit to achieve wellness. The sacred relationship between the physician and patient can be just as important as the medicine or therapy provided. Thus, I provide longer comprehensive appointments and am accessible to patients to ensure that their concerns are heard and they feel understood. Focusing on the whole person, I work with patients to develop individualized treatment plans to address various aspects of their lives including sleep, nutrition and exercise, relationship strategies, coping skills, etc.

Joanna Wiseman is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in South Carolina who has been practicing since 2009. She has a Master's of Science specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Regis College. As a compassionate listener, Joanna strives to care for each client as an individual and will personalize their care to obtain their goals utilizing a humanistic and holistic approach. In her spare time, Joanna enjoys running, watching movies, watching football, reading, listening to music, playing with her dogs, and travelling, especially to the beach.
