As a Nurse Practitioner, the core of my training was based on seeing a person holistically. In practice, this involves looking at all factors of a person's life, not just the issue that brought them into therapy. Although I am a prescriber, I believe in psychosocial interventions as a first line approach to healing. However, if we collaboratively decide that medications would be helpful, I provide those services as well. Most people have found it helpful to receive therapy and medication management from one person.

Greetings, I’m Rebecca Stewart, a dedicated practitioner holding dual board certifications in psychiatry and acute care medicine. I serve adults, children, and adolescents. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from New York University. Through years of service in emergency medicine, I came to recognize the profound divide between medical and psychiatric care, inspiring me to pursue further specialization in psychiatry. I sought advanced training at Johns Hopkins University, emerging as a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I am also proud to be an adjunct professor at NYU since 2017.

I have successfully treated patients who suffer from Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Insomnia, Bipolar Disorder, Dementia, Hallucinations and Delusions as well as addiction and alcoholism. I have worked with patients as young as 2 years old and as old as 105 years old.

I am offering therapy and medication management through video and/or phone. Keeping a diary can help during this confined time. I have been Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for over 20 years. I graduated from medical school in Paris and completed my psychiatry residency at Yale University. I joined the faculty at Yale University, and then at NYU until 2011. I have been Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College since 2011. I had been Unit Chief at NewYork Presbyterian for more than 10 years since 2011. I am fluent in English, French, and Hebrew.

I am a board-certified family psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner specializing in female health psychiatry, male health, and adolescent psychiatry. In my practice, I prioritize establishing a therapeutic partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and self-reflection. I am trained to treat people at all life stages. I do especially enjoy helping children and adolescents feel better and reach their full potential. When working with children, it is crucial to do an in-depth evaluation to look at the "whole picture," as all children exist within their own web of relationships (family, friends, schools, extracurricular activities). The stigma around mental health treatment can make initiation intimidating, because of this I offer a non judgmental and confidential space to get the treatment you need. As well I focus on the individual and not the diagnosis. Medication management cannot be performed properly if people are all treated the same. Services include medication management/review ,medical marijuana, and first time consultations to discuss a treatment plan. ADHD diagnosis/management is also provided. ADHD is often overlooked or under treated. My goal is to provide a personal experience where we work together for optimal care ensuring all needs are met.

I completed my psychiatric nurse practitioner training at NYU with a clinical focus in child/adolescent psychiatry. Since then I have worked extensively with adolescents coming out of intensive care programs for psychosis and children/adolescents with neurodiversity. I am also an adjunct faculty at NYU School of Nursing teaching inpatient psychiatric clinicals. I provide various psychiatric assessment and treatment, including psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual therapy, school collorations and genetic testing. A typical initial evaluation is 90 minutes and the follow-ups are 30 minutes.

Dolores has a treatment philosophy geared towards helping all of her clients maximize their potential in all spheres of life (personal, professional, and creative). She provides a customized approach individualized for each client. Dolores focuses on the individual as a whole to promote life satisfaction.

Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals as a consultant to medical and surgical teams, inpatient psychiatric units, VA Hospital, various outpatient programs including intensive eating disorder program at Mount Sinai and the New School student health center.
