Alexander Gumbs, FNP/PMHNP-BC is a dual board-certified practitioner in psychiatry and family medicine. Mr. Gumbs uses an integrative holistic approach to treat the bodies and minds of his patients. He is proficient in treating those across the lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, and seniors). Community focus is his passion. He has experience treating disadvantaged populations, such as the homeless and those in the criminal justice system transitioning back to civilian life. Mr. Gumbs treats those with anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, autism, insomnia, dementia, and postpartum depression.

I am a New York trained, Board Certified Psychiatrist, who has worked in several different hospitals in all of the major boroughs. I understand the fast paced stressors of living in New York. I specialize in conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADD/ADHD, addiction, trauma, personality disorders and more. I am dual board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. As a psychiatrist with expertise in both medication management and psychotherapy, I can help patients develop a treatment plan that meets their needs. The stigma around mental health treatment can make initiation intimidating, because of this I offer a non judgmental and confidential space to get the treatment you need. As well I focus on the individual and not the diagnosis. Medication management cannot be performed properly if people are all treated the same. Services include medication management/review ,medical marijuana, and first time consultations to discuss a treatment plan. ADHD diagnosis/management is also provided. ADHD is often overlooked or under treated. My goal is to provide a personal experience where we work together for optimal care ensuring all needs are met.
