Welcome, my name is Courtney. I am board certified as a family nurse practitioner and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. My passion is to create better access to mental health care for all ages and with 16 years' of nursing experience in both family and mental health care, I can offer clients a comprehensive and holistic approach to identify their mental health conditions and provide treatment based on an individuals unique needs.

We conduct on-site assessments and testing for various conditions, and then put together an appropriate treatment plan, including medication management and/or psychotherapy services as needed. Our offices are also available for individual and family counseling. Our certified therapists will work with you to help manage issues with anger, anxiety, depression, guilt, abuse, grief, including certain traumas.

I am a board-certified, academically oriented child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who provides psychotherapy and medication management services to clients located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. My ideal client would understand that the journey to wellness and recovery requires time, effort, and patience. They would be receptive to treatment suggestions which may include psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and medication options. My patients would take an active role in their care, and engage in open and honest communication with their provider.

ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS...I am a UPenn-trained, fully licensed and boarded psychiatrist. I help people resolve psychological or psychiatric problems that keep them from fully enjoying their lives. Some of my patients struggle with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic. Others have trouble coping with stress arising from major life events, grief, or relationship difficulties. Some simply wish to understand themselves better or to live more intentionally.

I have had a private practice in medication management for 21 years in several locations; am currently licensed in Connecticut and New Jersey, but am able to do telehealth appointments wherever you are located. Patients have found this to be very helpful, as we can connect from your home or work. My experience is in multiple settings: inpatient, outpatient, and crisis intervention. I have also served as a consultant to patients with mental health concerns in a neurology practice and in an HIV clinic. I have held faculty positions at several universities, and currently serve as an associate professor at UPENN's School of Nursing.

Better understanding our relationships with others and with ourselves can allow us to develop new and healthier patterns. Understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and mood influence each other in less helpful ways (e.g. exacerbating symptoms) is a part of then being able to make positive change. I believe that medications, if indicated, can help improve quality of life and functioning. When considering potential benefits, I also strive to help you weigh all options in the context of your own personal goals, preferences, and possible ambivalence around taking medications. Often this is in conjunction with individual therapy.

I take a holistic approach to psychiatric care. I first seek to understand a client's goals and meet them where they are. Treatment plans often vary significantly between clients. I have expertise in psychodynamics, CBT, and psychopharmacology. I have experience in the clinical assessment and treatment of Adult ADHD, depression and anxiety.
