My ideal client could be a child, adolescent or an adult that wants and needs to get psychiatric care. I am an open-minded and holistic psychiatrist who takes the whole person into account when I am treating him/her. I practice the biopsychosocial model and I also understand that not all treatment modalities work for all people. I tailor treatment goals and strategies for each individual person. I am also a big believer in combining diet, exercise, acupuncture, reiki, massage, physical therapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, psychoeducation, groups into the treatment plan and focusing on wellness as well.

I treat clients who have suffered from depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD or who simply feel that something is just not right with their mind or body and are looking for a diagnosis and/or relief. Ela Donis, MD is a board-certified adult psychiatrist that has been in practice for over 10 years. Dr. Donis is competent in performing thorough psychiatric assessments, differential diagnosis, prognostic assessments, genetic testing and interpretation and medication management. Other colleagues and patients have described her as knowledgeable and compassionate. Her areas of interest are PTSD, trauma associated disorders,mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.

Summer Thompson, DNP, PMHNP-BC is an ANCC Board-Certified, Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has been working in mental health for well over a decade helping members of the general public, veterans and active-duty personnel to achieve their best possible selves. Summer encourages mental health through a holistic model of health care by treating the "whole " person, not simply symptoms and disease. She achieves this in partnership with her clients through shared decision making, medication management, diet, and exercise.

Accepting New Patients - We are acutely aware that there is a shortage of mental health care practitioners in the area at a time when so many people are struggling to maintain their mental health. We are happy to be a new and growing practice that can address this shortage and help new patients. The goal of Manresa Wellness is to provide mental health support to adults in our community by providing competent and compassionate care.

I prefer to work with people who are interested in pursuing treatment and taking their mental health into their own hands. My patients preferably have their own therapists already and are interested in supplemental medication management. Beyond that, I am very flexible as to individual goals and means of acquiring those goals.
