Welcome! I am pleased to have you consider my practice for your psychiatric health care needs. I am licensed to practice medicine by the California State Medical Board, and am board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After receiving my medical degree from Sindh Medical College, I completed my Psychiatry Residency from Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, NJ. I have been practicing psychiatry in California since 2003.

I am a doctorally prepared, dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. I believe in providing holistic, whole person care. Besides medication management, psychotherapy and integrative modalities can provide the much needed support for patients. Exploring these modalities to help you improve your symptoms and quality of life is of utmost importance. Modalities explored are complementary and alternative medicine (CAMs) and Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

Angela is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She received her Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, San Marcos and has over six years of mental and behavioral health care experience. Angela has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in settings which include intensive outpatient programs and psychiatric emergency rooms. In these settings, she has provided care for various diagnoses, including but not limited to, anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, schizophrenia, and PTSD.

I am a California Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of experience. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nurse Leader from the University of San Francisco and received my Post-Graduate Degree from the University of South Alabama as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. In 2013, I was awarded the prestigious Caring Nurse Award in recognition for my exceptional care and advocacy of patients.

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE. Dr. Shivani Chmura is an expert in treating patients with an evidence based, compassionate approach. She also has extensive experience with medication management for eating disorders. Dr. Chmura is trained in both Child and Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry from UCSF and Stanford Universities. She uses a warm, holistic approach to treating every individual, couple, and family. Dr. Chmura is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, (CBT, DBT, Supportive). She is an expert on pharmacologic management for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, and post-partum depression and anxiety.

Trained at Johns Hopkins University and triple board-certified in psychiatry, family, and women's health, I have experience caring for a diverse client population. I use a holistic, whole-person approach, meaning that we not only focus on medication, but also on lifestyle and behavioral changes. When medication is recommended, our goal is to reduce side effects while maximizing the benefits. You will find that I am curious, open-minded, inquisitive, and accepting. I care about my clients deeply and aim to build trust and respect within our therapeutic relationship.
